Everyone has a journey. We never know exactly where the path will take us. Some events happen over which we have no control. Nevertheless, we make choices every day - some of them are life changing.
I never knew my grandparents - Danish, Dutch and French Canadian. My father died in my early 20s and my mother moved to Merida in Yucatan, Mexico, so she rarely saw my children. I didn't want that for my grandchildren or for me. When the opportunity came, I pulled up roots in California and moved back to the South. I studied painting with Julio Panisello (an artist from Barcelona) for several years in Los Angeles and I have continued painting in Atlanta. This series of oil on rice paper was inspired by my grandchildren and their journey in the world.
Since my show at Epiphany Gallery scheduled for April 2020 was cancelled due to Covid 19, I've invited you to my online show. Thanks for visiting and spread love wherever you can. Liv
